Soc Snippets 10/24/16

Hi Sociology Majors,

It’s that time of the quarter, when you are staring down midterms. So we’ve got a short Soc Snippets this week – peer advisors, career shadowing and a summer service learning opportunity.

Good luck on midterms and Go Ducks!

Soc Snippets: 10/10/16

Hi Sociology Majors!

Well, it appears that the glorious Oregon summer has left us and fall is in full swing. While some of us may be picking ourselves back up after the crushing defeat by UW on Saturday, hopefully this week’s Sociology Snippets will have some opportunities that will raise your spirits. This week we have information for those of you interested in politics, in conducting sociological research, seeking funding for your studies or looking for information about how to build a successful and fulfilling career with a sociology degree.

And remember, to stay up to day with department happenings follow us on Twitter or Facebook

Happy Indigenous People’s Day.

Soc Snippets 3/7/16

Hello Sociology Majors,

Welcome to week 10!! I’m sure you are all busy with registration plans, studying for finals and end of quarter projects. Remember that we have multiple people in the Sociology Department who can help you with academic planning and registration issues:

  • PEER ADVISORS: The peer advisors hold more than 20 office hours per week (here they are: https://www.facebook.com/SocPeerAdvisors), so they are usually on hand for any questions you have.
  • ROB MOLINAR: Rob Molinar is the Sociology Department Undergraduate Advisor. He is available during his office hours and by appointment. You can see his office hours and contact information here: http://sociology.uoregon.edu/profile/rmolinar/
  • ELIZABETH MILNER: Elizabeth Milner is the Sociology Department Undergraduate Coordinator. If neither Rob nor the Peer Advisors are available, she can answer most questions regarding registration, enrollment and major requirements. You can find her most days at the front desk in the Sociology Department.

Good luck with finals and have a great Spring Break!
