Courageous Kids: Grief Support Program for Youth

(a Peace Health program)

Position description:

Assist with grief support groups for children, youth, and families. Help set up room for group, be present with kids during group, and participate in clean up and de-brief.

Specific skills or experiences needed:

Supporting kids at all stages of grief

Trusting the kids to do as much as they are ready to do

Having the wisdom and experience not to interfere in the kids' process

Being able to work as a member of a treatment team

Time requirements:

Positions require 3 hours per week for 10 weeks (school term).

Camp positions require many hours during a 5-day residential camp in summer.

Internships are offered fall, winter, spring, and summer terms.
