Organization:
To provide community education and advocacy to promote awareness and understanding of HIV disease. To empower individual through education and support to make health choices to prevent further infection. To provide health care and support services to those living with HIV.
Position description:
A variety of volunteer positions are available in the areas of:
Client services
Prevention education (i.e., workshops for health care and social service providers)
Volunteers can also volunteer to help with and/or participate in HIV Alliance fundraisers: RiverWalk/River Run, World AIDS Day, Gifts from the Heart Auction
Specific skills or experiences needed:
An open mind
Professional ethics
An ability to work with high-risk individuals
Time requirements:
Positions require at least 6-9 hours a week for at least one term (10 weeks).
Internships are offered fall, winter, and spring terms.
