Mission:
To create opportunities and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities and others at risk, their children and families to promote their independence and active participation in the community.
Adults are provided training through subcontract work performed for over 200 businesses in their work center. The goal is to improve and enhance vocational skills and employability, while providing remunerative work opportunities. Some workers are supported in community-based jobs. Others are provided employment services and assisted in securing job placements.
Position description:
Assist adults with severe developmental disabilities
Help provide work and vocational training
Help provide enhancement of vocational skills and employability
Assist in securing job placements
Specific skills or experiences needed:
Interest in working with people with developmental disabilities in community and work place settings.
Time requirements:
Varies.
The program operates 9:00-2:00 Monday-Friday
Internships are offered fall, winter, and spring terms.
