ShelterCare: Garden Place Program

If you are looking for a positive experience in an intensive mental health setting, ShelterCare has an opportunity for you.

ShelterCare's Garden Place program is looking for an intern for Spring and preferably Fall Term (a two-term commitment is preferred) to provide companionship, provide life skills training, and do activities with residents.

Garden Place is a secure facility serving adults with mental illness. Residents usually live at this site for six months to three years. Interns are supported by a strong team of committed staff, and are trained well and given responsibilities to the level of their training and experience.

Garden Place is located in Eugene, between Centennial Blvd and Harlow Road. While accessible via LTD, students with autos will find it much easier to commute than students without autos.

If you need 4-12 hours a week, and are interested, please call Gene Obersinner, Volunteer/Internship Coordinator, at 686-1262 ext 305.
